Against my better judgement, I decided to purchase the car without having anyone look at it for me and had it shipped to me. A week later I got behind the wheel for the first time and immediately saw that the back leather seat had a large yellow stain on it that had been there for a long time. I then turned the car on to see four warning lights light up the dash light a Christmas tree. The ABS, TRAC, Parking Brake & Tire Pressure warning lights all were on! I called Mobico and told them this and they said it the lights were likely on because the truck driver had spun the tires when driving it up on his truck and that the lights were not a big deal. I told them I was going to take it to the Toyota dealership and have them look it and they said that I should just take it by a NAPA Auto Parts store and have one of the workers reset the lights for me because the dealership would just tell me something was wrong with it to make money on the repairs. I took it to the Toyota dealership the next day and sure enough they said there were several issues that appeared to have existed for a while that needed to be fixed and likely someone had temporarily disabled some of these warning lights and caused the problems to get worse. But this is not even the worse news - the tech called me over while car was on the lift and asked me if I had seen the undercarriage. The bottom of the car was covered in rust worse than any car I had ever seen. Their were several visible holes in the metal in many spots. He walked me around to the back of the car and showed me the rear coil springs that are connected to the Height Control System that raises the car's height up and down. They were completely rusted through and needed immediate replacement. I went to open the rear hatch door a min later and the handle broke off right in my hand because the metal brackets were rusted through.
This was the worst car and car buying experience I've ever had. We bought a 2007 Cadillac here and have had problems since day one. The dealership made sure to inspect it at their place. The front headlight went out while driving out of the garage we figured it's just a light we will replace it ourselves $70.00 later. This was just the beginning of this money pit junk box. We had to repair the front end of this car twice now. Had to replace the transmission and a few other issues. We are now about $4,000 deep in repairs of this car. It has not run normal since the day we bought it. Now once again a year later the car sits and will not start. This car has been the biggest nightmare ever. We called Mobico to explain all the issues with the car and got the whole, well it's a high mileage vehicle so expect problems. Yes he said this. He offered no help at all with the situation. We got stuck with a lemon and now can not get rid of it. This dealership should be shut down. It's used dealerships like this that give honest places a bad name. I hope this review helps and warns people of Mobico because we didn't do all the research that we should have and are now stuck. Horrible experience and horrible place. They are only concerned with getting these LEMONS off their lot.
I totally recommend this dealer.
The cars my wife, my daughter and I now own were purchased at Mobico. My Honda Accord was purchased over 4 years ago and is still worth almost what I paid for it. I have had to replace the tires, but that is expected after 50,000 miles use.
Purchased on 08 bmw 335 and though the carfax was clean the car had hidden front end damage. It was a repo and no work was done to this car after sitting for so long only tires and an oil change. They lied to close the sale and im disappointed I didn't realize the accident issue before because after replacing a horribly painted bumper, radiator and headlight washer im now stuck with it. They were well aware of the car being in an accident. They just kept feeding me empty words to make the sale. I will never shop nor recommend this facility. There is far to much deceit and games being played.
At that point I knew I had officially bought a lemon and that Mobico had blatantly deceived me in a number of different ways. Off the top of my head: claiming to have had their mechanics do a complete inspection and found nothing mechanically or cosmetically wrong with the car, taking perfectly set up pictures that obscured the defects (rust, leather stains, scuffs and marks) by using poor lighting or specific angles that did not reveal the problems, and plain outright lies made by the salesman, Imad. I made the mistake of not having someone come to look at the car and get it checked out by a independent mechanic. Shame on me because I know better. I am simply writing this review in hopes that someone will read this and think twice about taking anything that Mobico says as the truth without getting proof and independent confirmation. They will smile and assure you all the way until you drive away in one of their cars and then they will laugh all the way to the bank with your check.
I Googled Mobico because I am looking for a car again and want to check out Mobico's website. I am shocked to see two very negative reviews. I have bought over a half dozen cars from them over the years and have never experienced the issues these reviews address.
This is the kind of used car dealer that gives all used car dealers a bad reputation! I purchased a 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser from Mobico recently from out of state. I had the salesman, Imad, send me pictures of the car. All the pictures seemed to confirm the car was in good condition and he emailed me a scanned Carfax that confirmed the car was a one owner/no accident car that had been taken care of. Imad went as far to say that the car was in "perfect condition" and I " wouldn't be able to find a problem on it if I tried". He said they bought the car from the owner and knew that the owner had taken great care of it. I specifically asked him about rust underneath the car because it had been in Massachusetts its whole life and he said there was no material rust under the car and even sent me a couple of pics that were dark but did not show much rust. I asked him if he had the service records for the car and he said he did not which I felt was a little odd if they had bought it directly from the owner.
I Purchased an SL63 AMG Red Mercedes with 45,000 miles. I owned the car for several months an put over 5,500 miles on the vehicle. I blew the head engine gasket, approximately an $11,000 repair with Mercedes. I called up Abe to see if there was anything he would do to help. He informed me I was way over the mileage for warranty coverage. However, because of his compassion for people and credibility he has with his local Mercedes dealer, Abe had them repair my auto (by the book). Mercedes gave Abe a discount on the repair, then he split the cost with me. It ended up costing me 1/3. I'm from PA and found the auto online. NO REGRETS and a pleasure to do business with. Thanks Charlie
